Jourdain Jongwon Lee
Jourdain Jongwon Lee is an artist who received his MFA in sculpture from Long Island University. After graduating, he participated in and directed a number of shows before settling in Bushwick in 2011. His series, “Golem,” draws inspiration from Jewish folklore, where a Golem is an animated anthropomorphic being created entirely from inanimate matter. The Golem series is connected to his other works through the concept of protection. Lee believes that found objects, such as scrap metals and different shells, can be repurposed as protectors, guardians, or Golems. He views the Golem series as a magical force that guides him toward the future and helps people avoid negative energies
