Show Me Me

Mihaela Savu, a board-certified cardiologist and MFA graduate from MICA in Baltimore, escaped Communist Romania during Ceausescu’s dictatorship. Awarded the C. Sylvia and Eddie C. Brown Studio at the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, she began as a sculptor but now prefers painting for its expressive power. Her work is inspired by her medical career, focusing on themes of the immortal soul in a perishable body and the nostalgia of lost roots. Savu’s art has been showcased nationally and internationally and is included in private and commercial collections. Based in Jonesboro, AR, she is now a full-time artist.
