Frank Olt
Frank Olt, a New York-based artist and professor at Long Island University, fuses ceramics and painting in his abstract works. Using ceramic media, glazing, and encaustics, he creates pieces that recall color field artists and suggest landscapes. Olt contrasts glazed pottery with linen painted in beeswax and pigments. He studied with Bauhaus artist Rose Krebs and was an artist-in-residence at MoMA P.S.1. His work is exhibited and collected globally, with notable commissions for the 23rd & Ely subway station and Bellevue Hospital. He recently had a solo exhibition at the Nassau County Museum of Art.
